Literacy delays in Children

From birth, babies and children are gathering skills they’ll use in reading. The years between ages 3 and 5 are critical to reading growth.
It is important to understand that literacy is not attained by chance. Planned activities and taught lessons make it happen. It is not only the job of the teacher. The parent or guardian has a role to play.
Talk to your child’s teacher to discuss the learning approach and how you can compliment those efforts at home.
It is also important to seek early intervention in the case of speech delays or any other symptom that may point to a reading disability. Speak to a paediatrician about your concerns. Early intervention is key.
